Every day at the beach must come to an end... or not. When the sun goes down, rather than packing up and heading home, why not start a bonfire (providing it’s legal, of course) and let the good times continue to roll? One thing you’ll definitely want to have on hand... S’mores supplies!

Below, we’re sharing Food Republic’s secret S’Mores recipe, one that is sure to blow everyone away – guaranteed. The key? Homemade graham crackers. Enjoy!

image2.jpgPreheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine both types of flour, wheat germ, salt, baking soda and cinnamon in a medium mixing bowl and whisk together. In another bowl, combine the butter, brown sugar and honey. Mix on medium speed until fluffy with a hand-held mixer. Reduce speed to low and add the flour mixture half a cup at a time.

Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each piece ⅛ inch thick, then trim sides to form a rectangle roughly 8 x 6 inches.

Trim the edges of each rectangle with a fluted-pastry wheel, and then use the wheel to lightly score each piece into 3 smaller rectangles (be sure not to cut all the way through!)  Place each piece on a baking sheet and chill approximately 20 minutes before baking.

One at a time, remove each sheet of dough from freezer and poke with the tines of a fork. Place on a new, parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

Once cool, sandwich one toasted marshmallow and milk chocolate square in between two crackers and gently press together. For added flair, dip each side in a small bowl of desired toppings. Our favorites? Fleur de Sel caramels, toasted coconut or – and trust us, this is delicious – crispy bacon bits!
