What is it? An open-air museum of botanical wonders
Where is it? Barra de Guaratiba, a 45 min drive from downtown Rio
Created by: Roberto Burle Marx, the father of modern landscape architecture in Brasil. It was his personal retreat!
Number of plant species on the property: 3,500
Size: About 100 acres – that’s a big backyard!
