The 1994 genocide in Rwanda made victims not only of the tens of thousands of lives lost, but also, of the scores of broken families left in its wake.

Seraphina Muntungirehe is a woman who weaves baskets in Rwanda that are sold at Macy’s through a unique partnership with Gahaya Links. Here, her story on healing and rebuilding her life while raising five children on her own.
