Wow, what a week! From the steps of the Lincoln Memorial to the star-studded streets of Hollywood to the sandy shores of the Sunshine State, we’ve seen it all — and we’re thrilled you were able to join us. The first leg of our cross-country tour ends here on the isle of Lady Liberty in NYC, but we’ll be back next month as our tribute to American Icons continues all Summer long! Ahh, Summer.  Fresh cut grass. Running in the sprinklers. And, of course, our ultimate fave: road trips! Luckily, if you can’t take a cross-country trek of your own season, our friends (and 2012 iHeart Radio Rising Star winners) Megan & Liz are hitting the road to explore the hottest music spots from coast-to-coast for inspiration for their new song. And they’re (kinda) taking you along!

Nothing is better than driving around, top down, hair in the wind, with (almost) no place to go. This season, whether you’re hightailing it across the country (like us!) or simply headed to the nearest beach, be inspired (and get your kicks!) from the famed Route 66. Though the Main Street of America is no longer completely drivable, this slick stretch of highway from Chicago to L.A continues to serve as the symbol of a nation on the move.
