We at Fashionista know more than anyone that not all dress codes work for every office. I mean, how many other employers are okay with you sporting leather shorts, pink faux fur, sneakers, or sometimes all three!? Luckily, we can be adventurous, but we know that not many of you fashionistas can do the same. That’s why we’ve created a wardrobe cheat sheet to help you dress for success but stilllook chic!
Every bit as crucial as your go-to favorite little black dress, a failsafe little red dress an absolute-must-have of any true fashionista’s closet. Going with red instead of the more predictable LBD route is bold, sexy, and uplifting. Even better? Studies show that men, on a root, biological level, respond “favorably” (i.e. they do a double-take; their pulse quickens) upon seeing a lady in red. Hawt! So who’s to argue with science? Work that red! Here, my fave way to style the hottest of hues for a work-to-play kind of day.
Mais, oui! Ladylike peplums were all over the runways during Paris Fashion Week, not to mention miles of starlet-filled red carpets. So if you want to wear this flirty ruffle, you’re not alone. Check out some of our fave celebs showing us how their hips don’t lie, then see how you can work the peplum in your wardrobe:
