Remember that old adage, ‘you can’t wear white after labor day?’ Yeah, you can pretty much forget that. Because nowadays, anything goes. Read on for the new post-Labor Day style dictums...
Thou Shalt Wear White
Winter whites (think cream-colored whites) look crisp, fresh and totally luxe in the Fall and Winter months. In particular, white jeans – love! Just make sure to pay close attention to fabric weight. For example, if you want to rock a white frock mid-October, skip eyelet cotton and go with a more season-appropriate material like chambray or wool.
Thou Shalt Not Wear Mini Skirts With Bare Legs
Mini skirts after Labor Day? Go for it. But bare legs? Nah-uh. Unless you’re an A-list celeb with a chauffeur to take you to and from whatever fabulous event your going to, don’t be a victim of the cold (or of fashion). Nothing is less fashionable than someone who is clearly freezing and uncomfortable. Instead, pair your mini with black opaque tights – chic and practical.
Thou Shalt Not Dress Drab
Just because it may be cold & gloomy out doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to be. Accustomed to tossing on your basic black or navy sweater whenever it gets chilly out? Break that bad habit! Instead, opt for a vivid, color-blocked sweater or a quirky patterned cardi.
