When Taylor Swift arrived at Macy's Herald Square yesterday afternoon, it was like the most enchanting spell was cast on the crowd and those viewing the event around the world. The Grammy Award winning singer and songwriter is not only breathtakingly beautiful (I die for that dress!), but she's also gracious and kind. Equally graceful and down-to-earth, she possesses qualities that we'd all like to see in ourselves, which is exactly what makes her so captivating. I would dare to say, if you could bottle her exuberant spirit it seems like something everyone would want to buy. I think that may be exactly the case with her new fragrance Wonderstruck.
After stopping for a quick on-camera chat for the live stream event, Taylor made her way down the purple carpet and then moved inside for the official launch of her fragrance. She introduced Wonderstruck saying, "Wearing perfume is a unique way to create memories. Like songs, a scent can take you back and allow you to relive a moment in time."
I have no doubt that for the 300 adoring fans on hand, that moment in time, that memory, will be meeting the star in person. From the smiles and tears, it was evident that Taylor took the time to touch each one of their lives with her kind words and warm heart.
I'm also loving the fragrance. From picking the notes to designing the packaging, the star was involved in the entire development process, and it shows. Look closely and you'll see Taylor's personal touches everywhere. The carton design is based off of fabrics she's collected while traveling the world. The Moravian star, dove, and birdcage charms where hand-picked by Taylor, and I'm told that they represent decorative elements in her own home. And then there's the number 13 ... It just so happens, this is Tay's lucky number, her personal appearance took place on October 13, the package is topped with a 13 seal, and the number is even embossed as an intricate detail on the cap.
The fragrance itself goes beyond just being sparkling and sweet, it also has a lot of depth to it, just like Taylor. It opens with notes of freesia, apple blossom, and raspberry, then blends into warm vanilla, golden amber, and sandalwood, woven with a kiss of lush peach.
In case you can't tell, I'm officially Wonderstruck, and it's very possible that you might be too! If you took part in one of the Viewing Parties yesterday or were part of the event at Herald Square I'd love to hear your favorite memory from the day. Who knows, I may even be able to pass your comments along to Taylor.
