I look forward to New York Fashion Week for many reasons, and interacting with Lancome Makeup Artist Daniel Martin is very high on that list! Maybe it's his calm demeanor in the midst of backstage madness or the fact that I always know he'll have some type of fab story or makeup trickery to share. Whatever the reason, Daniel has quickly become and remains one of the pros I most look forward to bumping into backstage, and this season was no exception. Additionally, I had the pleasure of meeting Darais, Lancome's National Makeup Artist for the first time. Charming, seriously skilled with a makeup brush, and plenty of tatts, rings, and quirky-cute style to boot! Together, this team created looks we'll all turn to for inspiration this spring, or when we need to capture a Japanese wood-nymph meets Tiny Tim look. Don't judge so soon ... You really never know!

Rather than just reporting the trends from Fashion Week, I decided to give each brand, and each artist, the credit they deserve ... Starting with Stila. I had the pleasure of spending my backstage beauty time with gorge Stila Pro, Sarah Lucero, watching her create runway magic again and again for some of my favorite designers. Here are the first looks for spring that I know you're going to love!

bobbi_model_touchup 002.JPGThis morning I joined the talented Bobbi Brown team backstage as they prepped models for the Rachel Roy Spring 2012 Runway Show. Because the collection was based on looks of 'Colonial Vietnam' with a diverse color range, Bobbi opted for gorgeous, natural-looking makeup in shades of rose gold. "Rose gold creates the perfect neutral for any skin tone. It also happens to be both my and Rachel's favorite shade of gold."
