Just as fashion and makeup change with the seasons, so do your skincare needs. Read on to find solutions to your biggest summer skincare problems and learn how to look fresh-faced all season long.

Problem - shiny skin:

As soon as the sun starts shining, some of you may notice that your skin follows suit. Even the driest skin may develop an oily sheen through the T-zone, as the temperature and humidity rise.

Solution – reevaluate your skincare:

Bliss No Zit Sherlock helps to calm the skin and regulate sebum production, so your complexion will look fabulous as you prepare to beat the heat.

Problem – feeling a little dirty:

Sometimes in the summer it’s hard to keep your skin feeling clean. That’s partially because of the temperature and also because of a nasty little thing called pollution. During the summer months, pollution mixes more easily with the warm air and stays closer to the surface, which means it’s also closer to your skin. That, in addition to the oil and dirt on your skin, leads to the inevitable…clogged pores and potentially blemishes.

Solution – add exfoliator:lancome_exfoliator.jpg

Exfoliating is like giving your pores a deep cleansing. It helps to turn over your top layer of skin cells for a fresher, clearer complexion. Try adding a product like Lancôme Pure Focus Exfoliator to your skincare routine two to three times a week and dirt won’t stand a chance of spoiling your summer fun.

Problem – you’re the center of attention:

Even when you’ve taken the extra steps to get your skin ready for the summer heat, sometimes it’s not the weather that turns up your internal thermostat. Stress or being the center of attention at work or play can also increase your sebum production and lead to unwanted to shine on your skin.

Solution – take matte into your own hand:

For instant oil control, keep blotting paper on hand. I like MAC Blot Film. Just press it on your skin whenever you’re feeling the heat and it will keep your skin looking matte and you feeling completely pulled together and fabulous!

You forgot about summertime breakouts...HELP!

by Tonya_Mann on ‎07-21-2011 12:24 PM

I only wish I could forget about breakouts! Unfortunately I've been dealing with them all summer too, which is exactly why acne-fighting products got their own post. I hope it helps.
