Justin Bieber has had a busy week, and it's only Wednesday! On Sunday Bieber tweeted about the launch on his latest fragrance, Girlfriend, announced a secret concert that took place Monday night, his album Believe went on sale yesterday, and Justin Bieber: All Around The World, a two-part show, will air tonight and tomorrow on NBC. I've been along for part of the ride with thousands of other Beliebers, and here are some of my favorite moments in pics.
Monday, 6:30AM - I arrived at Macy's Herald Square to find a long line of Bieber fans (and the most amazing parents in the world!) anxiously awaiting the store opening to purchase their exclusive Girlfriend Fragrance Package, which included tickets to the evening performance. This lovely group of ladies had been waiting in line about 24 hours and snagged the very first Girlfriend set.
Just down the block I ran into these adorable sisters who were beyond excited about the new perfume, Believe album, and of course the concert! And the line didn't bother them a bit. They're pros at being Bieber fans, saying they'd just camped out to see the heartthrob perform on the Today Show.
As I headed back to my office I couldn't pass up the opportunity to snap a pic of the Biebs himself. He was perfectly posed for photo opps as his fans worked their way through the line!
And if you're curious about the new scent ... In addition to a totally cool magnetic cap, it's described as giving you that "first-kiss" feeling with every application. Sure, it's okay to scream with excitement! I know you will anyway.
Monday, 6:30PM - I arrived at the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem for Justin's VIP performance! He picked this location because it was one of the first places where his idol Michael Jackson took the stage, and MJ music filled the theater again that night.
Before the event, this fan got the thrill of her life. She happened to be there right when the star was arriving, and the always gracious Bieber was happy to stop for a picture. Talk about good timing!
And I have to say one of the sweetest things I overheard was when the little boy sitting next to her inside the theater said, "So what's the best day of your life?" Her reply, "This one! I LOVE Justin Bieber!" Too cute, too cute...
This trio caught my attention as they were snapping pics and anxiously anticipating the concert.
I have to give a special shout-out to this fab Bieber fan! Not only was she sweet enough to pose for me with her JB swag, she also sat behind me and filled me in on all the key players on Justin's Team. Thank you!!!
As the show started I cannot even describe the noise level, and it only got louder when Justin said he needed to ask his fans a serious question, "Does anyone want to be my baby?" Meltdown! He sang Somebody to Love, Baby, and then special guest Ludacris joined him on stage during All Around the World.
My favorite performance followed the appearance of Justin's friend Avalanna (5). He became quite emotional, asking everyone there to pray for the little girl and followed that up with an acoustic performance of his song Pray.
Because the show was so different than a typical concert, Justin also made the time to have a little fun! Bieber asked everyone to join him in singing Happy Birthday to his manager and friend, Scooter, before pushing him face-first into his birthday cake.
And as they cleaned cake off the stage, he performed a little drum solo to entertain the crowd.
We also learned that during the concert there were problems with a transformer being overloaded, but Bieber didn't let that keep him from returning to the stage. Without a band to back him up, the singer improvised, closing the show with an acapella version of his latest hit Boyfriend.
