I am hugely disappointed in Macey's.  I have been forced to discontinue shopping there because they penalize me for using my AMerican Express card.  I do not own another card and do not want any more cards.  It is ridiculous to assume that customers will carry credit cards from every store they shop in!  in order to get a

20% discount on purchases!  Why shouldn't my cash or main credit card be entitled to a store discount?  I also have a friend who cannot get a credit card because of her husband's credit... why should she not get the same discount as

every customer?   When I complained about this awful policy, the salesperson told

me that I could just shop somewhere else!   and I will!  Bloomingdale's also started the same silly policy of penalizing shoppers who the store's credit card.

THis is inexcusable...  I will not be bullied by Macey's into using their card.

Tell your friend without the Macy's credit card that she is better off.  In the 2 years that I had one, they twice accused me of not sending payments in on time.  The first was a payment that I sent in 2 weeks before the due date, but it took them 4 weeks to cash the check and they tried to tack on a late fee.  The second time was much worse.  I had 3 bills that must have gotten lost in the mail because my electric bill, natural gas bill, and Macy's bill did not reach their destinations.  Macy's was the only one who turned me in to the credit bureaus.  I've had stellar credit all of my life and this one incident has reduced my credit score.  I won't shop there anymore.
